I wasn’t expecting much from a travel-size lightening kit, but this completely surprised me. It gradually lightens your hair in a really natural way, and the toner balances it out perfectly—no weird orange tones. Great for touching up highlights or giving your hair a bit of a glow. Love this combo!! I'm so glad that hair lighteners from the '90s have had a facelift!! No more strange orange hair is a huge bonus, just natural pretty highlights because this brand uses natural "good for your hair" ingredients. Definitely five stars all around!!

I love this product. Originally I wanted to dye my hair blond but this product made me fall in love with a dark blond type,I am so grateful that I used this without dying my hair, it made life so much easier and it lasts ❤️

I have tried Sun In before to attempt to lighten or give highlights to my hair and this product works similarly to sun in. These are both hydrogen peroxide based products that will lighten your hair with sun or heat exposure. I found that the sun bum lightener is much less potent. It takes a lot more product before you start to see any lightning results. I felt like the damage that I did to my hair was pretty similar to the sun in, so I would expect it to lighten my hair as quickly as the Sun In does. I will say it was better than Sun In because it comes with a toner, which is a huge issue if you’ve ever tried Sun In before, you know that it makes your hair, very brassy and orange rather than blonde. So extra points to the sun bum product because the toner really does make a difference although I feel it adds a bit of damage so make sure that you are prepared to repair your hair back to health. Overall, solid product but you need to use lots of it to see the desired results. I’d also like to mention that I used this in an area where the UV index during the summer reaches 14 and I went out at the hottest hours of the day in order to use this product and it still took about 30 minutes before I started to see any real results. I feel with sun in that you see it almost instantly when you go into the sun after applying. Less damage than sun in but longer process. I noticed hardly any brassy tones with the toner.

So far, I’ve tried Suntouched, Sunbabe, and lastly Sun Bum. Without a doubt, Sun Bum not only lightened the best, but also seemed to nourish my hair. I have a ton of hair so I feel that I don’t get as many applications as other people might, however my hair lightened one level after finishing this bottle. My hair was a very badly grown out balayage with brown roots and light blonde ends. This product allowed me to gently blend the different levels. I intend to continue using this product over the others.Important to note:This product will lighten all hair that you apply it to. So if you want an all over lightning effect then apply all over. If you are trying to blend your roots, spray new growth only then gently brush downward towards already lightened hair.Wear gloves when applying and cover your ears with an oil ( I use castor oil) to prevent skin irritation!!!!Although this is a much more gentle alternative to bleaching, it does lift using a proprietary blend which Includes peroxide as one of its ingredients. If your hair is severely damaged or fried from over-lightening, take caution!

I tried this for 2 weeks, but didn't really see any change in my bronde hair. I wouldn't recommend this.

Solid sun screen

I wish I had an accurate before photo to show you the difference it does make.I have naturally dirty blonde hair. My roots are like a mousy brown color and I do my own coloring for a little pop of blonde balayage towards the ends.Well - I haven’t colored my hair in probably a year and I’ve been trimming it consistently so my blonde was fading and leaving me with a darker brownish color.It’s getting to be summer so I bought this duo- which I also used last year! I spray it in my hair before I blow dry or if I know I’ll be out in the sun and it’s pretty effective at lightening up my roots and brightening up what little bit of pale blonde I still have around my mids/ends.I spray the toner on after my showers when my hair is wet and brush through then leave it to dry. It’s a great detangler! And I haven’t really noticed any “brass” though I also have a purple shampoo I use occasionally to make certain.This product works fantastic with consistent use over time, especially in my hair which is already pretty light and easy to lift.
