Good over the counter AFO.
I like how pliable the plastic is - still allows for good range of motion and is comfortable for long wear. Kept tripping over my foot with my old foot-up brace so I needed something with more structure/support. This was a good temporary fix while I waited for my custom brace. But if you have significant foot drop, this isn’t for you. I still alternate between this and my custom AFO (carbon fiber/much stiffer material) depending on what I’m doing.

Does help ambulation
The positive review is that it does work for foot drop. I do not trip when wearing tis device. The negative is that it is very narrow, so if your calves are wide, it will not be comfortable - it will rub and constrict. Also, I had to use velcro "dots" to keep the band in place that goes around the leg. This is a thick band and slides down without the extra support. I have two white plastic AFOs and do not have any problems with them. I wanted a black one so I am happy to fix the minor problems.

Cheaply made with no stability.
I wish I didn’t even have to rate this item. Bought this item after my mother’s therapist recommended it, however when I received it in the mail I could immediately tell how cheaply made it is. My mother has had four strokes and the most recent strokes have left her right side completely weakened making it hard for her to keep her right foot straight when walking. This was to help stabilize her so her foot doesn’t get caught up when she’s walking forward, however this item looks as if it’s made for a child, not a grown women. The calf area is extremely narrow and small and the length of the sole itself is very small, even for a size nine according tknrh description. I will see what her therapist says and recommends once they see what it looks like on her in person, but I’m definitely considering returning this, it is most definitely not worth the price it’s set at.

Disappointed
I purchased this because it is black in color and has 1 wide leg strap. I love the color. It goes very well with my pants. But I should have returned it because as soon as I out my foot in it, I knew that there was a problem. Now it is too late. I thought it would adapt like my 1st AFO brace. The foot portion that comes from the heel to under the foot at the instep area is too far into the foot. I wore it today (1/11/2023) for the 1st time and couldn't wait to get back home and get it off. It rubbed through my socks to the point I was afraid of developing a blister. The strap kept loosening even though I readjusted it several times. It even slid apart where it overlapped. If there is a solution, I would love to know what that is. Otherwise, it is an expensive mistake.

Keeps my ankle from buckling
I have foot drop and a weak ankle caused by nerve damage on the outside of my leg. This brace has provided much needed stability while walking. My only dislike is that I have to wear knee socks to keep the brace from sticking to my calf. This is fine during the winter months but I wish there was a soft padding on the upper part of the brace so that I won't have to wear knee socks in the summer. I'm sure there is some sort of sticky padding that I can find to remedy this problem. Otherwise, this brace is a perfect fit in my shoe and very comfortable with walking.

Does the job. Can’t beat the price.
Decent AFO for the cost. Long review:I use an Ottobock Walk-On daily for a foot drop in my right side after an injury (permanent). The full foot base of the Walk-On causes pain in my front big toe after walking for 15 mins. Not ideal. It has made it very difficult to walk. I bought this super affordable AFO, so I could manually cut down the foot support to be a half palm (support ends at the palm of foot vs going past toes). This works. I cut it myself 45 secs after taking out of the Amazon shipping bag. The plastic calf is flexible. The bad review showing the narrow sofa can was misleading (you need to pull the plastic out, and sort of clip/snap it around your calf). If you have monster-sized calves, this will not work for you. The plastic will definitely rub against your calf as you walk. The Velcro strap at the top is a joke. But, all of these things can be remedied by knowing how to make a replacement (use some creativity, Velcro, stretchy fabric, and a sewing machine). I can cover all parts of the plastic calf area with a soft, stretchy material. Being able to start with the base support that will work as a half-palm AFO to correct my semi-horrible foot drop (after I make it more comfortable) is great. And for $40 bucks, I get to see if it works. Easier than buying a new $500 Ottobock. If the half palm works, I will ask my foot clinic to saw down the carbon fiber of my better brace.

BRACING UP!
This black brace has extra padding on its Velcro strap that goes around lower calf. The previous older white brace didn't have the extra padding and needed a tall sock under the Velcro.. This black brace goes well with darker clothing. It works well for drop foot in shoes and boot;, just put an innersole over the brace foot part..

Save your money
I bought this because I have drop foot and chronic extensor tendinitis and thought that this would be an occasional alternative to my Arizona Brace, first, the calf portion is way too skinny, I included a picture, the calf portion is wrapped around a Mountain Dew can and you can't really tell in the pic but the can is bent inward because the calf portion is so narrow. One of the other pictures shows me one handed bending the toe portion down, absolutely no stability, and the other pic shows me one handedly squeezing the middle portion of the brace together that is supposed to give you "lateral stability." When I contacted the company (it took 3 tries) they finally told me that I had to pay to return it, because there was nothing wrong with it, I just didn't "like it." You'll get more stability from an ace bandage, don't waste your money.
